It's been a while since my last post but it's time to get back into creating this scene. Since my last post I have finished the entire rock set and transitioned my idea for the environment into a more winter based scene, complete with snow.
Thanks to many different iterations and a lot of substance designer practice, the rocks look far better than their previous incarnation. By using a master texture complete with vertex painting I can create a lot of variation between the rocks on an individual level without large amounts of unique textures. Next the entire scene itself needs to be blocked out, I'll be doing two version of it, one an underground cave and the second a mountaintop shrine. As I am not sure which of the two would fit the mood I am aiming for the best.
